Poem of The Day - I Love Thee - Thomas Hood

I love thee—I love thee!
'Tis all that I can say;—
It is my vision in the night,
My dreaming in the day;
The very echo of my heart,
The blessing when I pray:
I love thee—I love thee!
Is all that I can say.

I love thee—I love thee!
Is ever on my tongue;
In all my proudest poesy
That chorus still is sung;
It is the verdict of my eyes,
Amidst the gay and young:
I love thee—I love thee!
A thousand maids among.

I love thee—I love thee!
Thy bright hazel glance,
The mellow lute upon those lips,
Whose tender tones entrance;
But most, dear heart of hearts, thy proofs
That still these words enhance,
I love thee—I love thee!
Whatever be thy chance.

What is this! A plain "I love thee" ! Come on, it dosen't work, You need to say much more than that to woo a girl,it sounds so cliché.

Vivek, if you are hell bent upon pursuing this theme for the rest your blogs, please find some good poems.

Poems need not not be verbose and complex. In the end, if the message is being passed on, the complexity of the words being used is irrelevant.
While I know that simply saying "I love you" to someone in no way would guarantee that your affections would be reciprocated in a manner of your liking, it must be comprehended that this poem or rather the sentiments in the poem need not just be expressed at the start of a relationship, but rather throughout the entire life-span of the relationship concerned. Love doesn't dry off when someone affirms to being your beloved; rather, it grows even more thereon.
